Game Notes:

In the final game of the Cherry Creek Classic the Stars build a 4-0 lead to only see it slip away in the bottom of the 7th and lose 6-5. TJ Perez started and went 5.1 strong innings walking none and giving up 3 earned runs. Taylon Lopez comes in, in the 6th and works out of a jam only to see the game slip away in the 7th. From the plate Ryan Colombo leads the way with 3 hits and Michael Meenen adds 2 to account for 5 of the 6 hits.

Side note: From the mound over the past week which included 7 games and 40 innings pitched the Stars pitching staff has only given up 12 walks during that stretch and that includes 7 pitchers over that time frame and have struck out 31 while throwing more than a 2 to 1 strike to ball ratio. Stars pitching staff has done a great job and hopefully that trend will continue as the Stars are in action Tuesday June 11th, 2013 at Hummer Sports Park in Topeka against the Johnson County Hornets in the 3rd league game of the year as they try to stay undefeated in league play.
