Dillon was always a very aggressive hitter. He hit .379, had 45 RBI’s and 6 home runs for the Stars, but his defense was amazing. He got outs, on plays, where most players would not have even been able to get to the ball. Fun to watch.

June 7, 2011 -- Emporia State baseball's Dillon Hazlett was drafted in the 20th round by the Seattle Mariners in the major league baseball first year player draft. He is the highest Hornet draft pick since Gabriel Medina went in the 15th round of the 2006 draft. He was also the first MIAA player to have his named called in the 2011 draft.
Hazlett was named an All-American by both the NCBWA and Daktronics. He was also named first team all-region by Daktronics, NCBWA and the ABCA. He earned first team All-MIAA honors as well. He led the MIAA in stolen bases as he swiped 43 on the year. He led the team hitting .433 with five home runs and 42 runs batted in.
